Wallpaper is its own craft, and our routine covers walls smoothed and sized before a single drop goes up, seams rolled tight, patterns matched drop to drop, from grasscloth and silk to full-wall murals.

What time of year is best to paint a house?
For exteriors, roughly April through early November, with the sweet spot in late spring and early fall, because paint needs dry surfaces and steady temperatures to cure. Can I paint over old paint?
